spring! ๐ธ๐
This post is to honor the third stop of April โ East Lansing โ but Iโm labeling it โspringโ as that is what made this stop so special (apart from the company of course).
I have never appreciated the cold as much as I did at the beginning of this month upon my return from Costa Rica. And I have never appreciated the warmth as much as I have the past couple years during that week (always in mid-April) where the sun shines and everyone emerges from hibernation, even if it is for just a couple days. It is a feeling that I never got to experience in my first 18 years and thus will cherish for the next however many.
So I feel especially lucky that in just the past two weeks I have experienced like five or six different weather types from extreme humidity in Nosara to powdery snow in Colorado to cloudy rain and windy days in Chicago to the beginning elements of sun in East Lansing! And Iโm sure when I touch base in San Diego I will be welcomed by famously good weather (in what I think to be one of the best months for it) โ knock on wood.
Anyway, so in the rest of this post I wonโt dwell on the day-to-day activities as deeply as I did in the past two, but I will discuss some of the special moments of spring we experienced.
First! Canโt say whether it was in fact special but on Friday the sun was out and after getting a good olโ Graduate latte we walked toward Wells to listen in on Charlie Kirkโs Prove Me Wrong LIVE. While I wouldnโt call it a happy activity it was in fact informative albeit a bit disheartening. It was good to hear perspectives and conversations around the current political scene.
That afternoon we took a nice walk and went to sushi for dinner โ which I would say is very spring ๐ฃ๐ฑ??
The next day we walked 45 minutes to Trader Joeโs then I got my first use of my beautiful floral picnic blanket. We had our salads and sat in the sun then laid in the sun and slept in the sun. Beautiful! I love picnics.
Flash forward to San Diego where spring is perhaps not as monumental but still so beautiful! And Happy Earth Day!!
Lovely walks and turtle ponds and purple trees and sports events all depicted below in my spring montage. Not sure what this post really was besides just a profession of my love for spring. Happy almost-May!
