Favorite Hobby:

I have been absolutely engulfed in Paint by Numbers once again. Over the summer I did a couple: one of Barcelona and one of the Brooklyn Bridge. Throughout the past month I did one of Venice, one of a nature scene, one of Yellowstone, and one (incomplete) of Amsterdam. It is so fun and therapeutic with a fun result.

Food + Drink (a good month for these) 🥖:

  1. Taco Salad from Mendocino Farms 🥗

  2. Parmigiano Reggiano 🧀

  3. Lucien Albrecht 🍾

  4. Penne alla Vodka

  5. Notable one-time mentions

    1. Egg Hugo from Kopi in Andersonville 🍳

    2. Cheesy Risotto Special from Italian Village (literally the best thing ever SOOO good)

    3. Butternut Squash Sage Ravioli from Piatti in La Jolla

    4. Yule Log from French Oven

  6. Sweets

    1. Hazelnut Sandwich Cookies

    2. Chocolate Salami 🤤

    3. Peppermint kisses and Ghirardelli squares 🍫

Favorite Book 📖:

I only read two books this month, The Seven-Year-Slip and One Day in December, and the latter takes the win for the month. While I wasn’t too intrigued at first, given that the plot involved an emotional affair with the protagonist’s best friend’s boyfriend, the detailed scenes, developed characters, and decade-long timeline made me root for the romance between Jack and Laurie. It wasn’t as Christmasy as I had anticipated, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

Favorite Movies:

  1. Twisters!! 🌪️ I am adding the favorite movie section to this month’s post simply to reiterate how much I liked this movie.

  2. Wicked! 🧹 Keya and I went to Edwards and saw this. While I wish it was the whole story and not just part one, I did really enjoy it. Cried about 4 times.

Memories:

  1. The Cheese Party! 🧀 It is interesting watching so much hard work realize itself, particularly in such an extravagant fashion, but I have lots of love for it. I got to spend time with my friends and also meet and spend time with some of Peter’s. And eat cheese—the best part.

  2. Piatti with Pete: Piatti is my favorite restaurant in San Diego, and I took Peter there for the first time a few days ago. The food was delicious and it had a great ambience, especially with the Christmas decor. I have concluded that butternut squash ravioli is one of the best foods in existence.
